The Monkey King Family Art Museum was established by the People's Government of Chuzhou District (now Huai'an District) of Huai'an City in cooperation with Shanghai Liu Xiao Ling Tong Culture Industry Co., Ltd. Zhang Jinlai better known by his stage name Liu Xiao Ling Tong, is a Chinese actor best known for his role as the Monkey King (Sun Wukong). His family members, who are Peking opera actors, specialized in playing the role of the Monkey King (Sun Wukong), the protagonist of the classical novel Journey to the West. The Monkey King Family is full of gratitude to Wu Cheng'en for carrying forward the culture and spirit of the Monkey King. They believe that there would be no Monkey King family without Wu Cheng'en. Therefore, they donated a large amount of art works to collect by generations to Wu Cheng'en's former residence and establish the Monkey King Family Art Museum as a memorial to Wu Cheng'en.
The Monkey King Family Art Museum covers an area of 1650 square meters, with a construction area of nearly 800 square meters. It is a Ming Dynasty style building. Its appearance is in harmony with Wu Cheng'en's former residence. There are five hall buildings, the Monkey House, the Collection Hall, the Monkey Theatre, the Tongchun Stage and the Monkey King's Exclusive Department. First of all, let’s look at the magical stone carving "Three Kings Stone". According to relevant experts, this stone carving is the object of the Yuan Dynasty, which was originally the treasure of Taoist at the border of Xinjiang and Gansu. In the early Ming Dynasty, Owing to light and fire, the temple was burned, but only this stone was safe and sound, and then left in the folk for a long time.
